Nordic Walking Bedford & Ampthill – Week Starting 11th March 2013

Hi Nordic Walkers!

So back to freezing conditions again!

Not really a problem when out nordic walking as we do tend to warm up quickly, but the wind makes life a little difficult with poles.

Just make sure you take extra care when striding out as gusts can push the poles across your path and it’s easy to trip.  Make sure you have some gloves too!  With the rain over the past few days, some of our trails are a tad slippy again so make sure you have soles with some grip.
This week’s walks:

Tuesday – 10am – The Bedford Golf Club, Carnoustie Drive, Great Denham (Paws on)
Thursday – 10am – Ampthill Park, Big Car Park
Saturday – 10am – Ampthill Park, Big Car Park

Hopefully the temperatures will warm up a bit, look forward to seeing you all on the trails!

Hello,
Hope you all had a great weekend in spite of the weather, seems like summer is delayed this year, hopefully it will arrive in time for my Coast 2 Coast walk!  This week the weather forecast is for much the same as last week but we may luck out like we did last week also, where we managed to walk in between showers! Fingers crossed.

Tuesday 6:30pm – Bramingham Park, Luton – Meet at top of Edgcott Close
Thursday 10am – Bedford Park – As above

No classes this Saturday but back the following week.

If you’re in any doubt about whether class is on due to rain, please don’t hesitate to call or text me  07894791527.

What Do Tony Robbins & Nordic Walking Have In Common?

Nordic Walking

Last weekend I was at a business conference in London where Tony Robbins, the famous motivational guru, was speaking. Interesting, but what’s it got to do with nordic walking?

Well, Tony Robbins talked about how changing your physiology can change the way you feel. Nordic walking has definitely changed my physiology for the better.

I started Elaine Kearns’ nordic walking classes in October 2010. And quickly got hooked! I’m surprised at just how much my posture has improved over the months. My stomach muscles have become much tighter. Now I stand and walk in a much more upright position.

Add to the better posture, the weight that I’ve lost as well, and I feel better than I’ve done in years. And all from walking around with a couple of poles!
